Is the current "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" cast going to record a CD?
Q. I've been searching around for it, and it does not appear to exist (The show with Daniel Radcliffe). I just saw the show, and none of the other recordings seem to stack up. Is there any talk of creating one in the near future?

A. Sorry I don't know for sure if they're recording one, but here's one of the original cast.

Q. I mean, like communication wave can we transmit "Electrical Power , where the Electrical Power Transmission Line is not necessary.
Asked by sonu b - Wed Jul 23 11:20:31 2008 - Engineering - 9 Answers - Comments

A. I believe you mean: "Can electrical power be transmitted through the air without the use of cables?" The answer is YES, it can! We use it all the time in power stations. The device often used in this case is called a transformer. It povides a connection between two points with no physical, or mechanical link. These devices are used to step up or down the voltage between the two points. Within the transformer there is a coil with a magnet. When an A.C current is passed through an electro-magnetic field is created. This A.C magnetic field passes through the air and is "recieved" by another coil at the other end of the device. Out pops a current at the other end. This principle can be applied on a much larger scale. E.g.… [cont.]

Where does the electrical current orginate from a stimulus in a "graded potential"?
Q. How are stimili converted into electrical sources and transmitted as ions through a neural membrane?
Asked by Andrei C - Fri Apr 13 08:12:14 2007 - Psychology - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. In a graded potential...the electrical current originates from the dendrite of a neuron. Upon being stimulated, certain receptor protein ion channels on the dendrites are activated and opened. This causes an influx of the specific ion the receptor channel was geared for and depolarization results. The more intense the stimulus...the more ion channels that are opened...the greater the voltage change...and the farther the current flows (current reflects the movement of ions). These ions accumulate very close to the stimulated area. From there the surplus of ions radiates out in all directions, polarizing adjoining membranes.

Not because it made people sick (no documented cases) it was banned because it was effective at wiping out disease. Millions have died from disease because it was banned. That is exactly what the slave masters want. keeping in view d career prospects, which branch is better-"electrical n electronics" or "electronics n comm"
Q. I'm pursuing my B.Tech and I've completed my first year in "electrical and electronics". Now I've a chance to change my branch to "electronics and communication". I wanted to know if there is actually a big difference in these 2 branches. should I change my branch or continue with the present??
Asked by preeti - Tue Jul 15 13:55:35 2008 - Engineering - 2 Answers - Comments

A. Very big difference is there. Being a EEE (Electrical & Electronics) engineer, I assured you the ECE (Electronics & Communication) has a very big job opportunities. Here the difference is Communication. EEE doesn't deal with communication technologies except a communication paper in one semester. Only ECE students are getting placed in IT companies compared to CSE & IT. Most of the esteemed engineering organisations like ISRO, DRDO, HAL etc are in need of EC engineers. Even I felt to not to take ECE in B.E. So its better to switch into ECE if u get a chance. Worths a lot.

A. Peter C hit the nail on the head, Electrical Engineering has to do with the power companies and wiring houses/buildings knowing what gauge wiring to use, High voltage transformers and collection of electricity (a.k.a. hydroelectric, wind turbine, geothermal, nuclear, etc...) Electronics engineering has to do with components such as TV's, Computers, Cell Phones, etc... you also get into the digital side of electronics using Integrated Circuit (IC) Chips that deals with AND, OR, NAND, NOR, XOR functions. Also with electronics engineering technology, you are on the cutting edge building and troubleshooting some of the most technologically advanced systems in the world. All in all, both are very good career paths to get in to, but take a LOT… [cont.]

Can I use a universal "power supply adaptor" for my electronics device?
Q. I am using a goldstream handy Tone 496 VOIP adaptor for my IP telephone service. The unit's power supply has somehow failed, which rendered the unit dead and unusable. The Unit's power adaptor reads 5 volts, 1200 m A, 6 watts. To solve the problem, I purchased a GE (General Electrics) universal adaptor which is rated at 1000 m A, and set it to 4.5 volts (and at the correct polarity); which means that it would be supplying 4.5 watts of power to my unit. The unit is now 100% functional. However, the IP provider will not approve the use of another adaptor than the one provided (I asked them) as it would void the warranty of the unit. Instead, they want to send me a new adaptor (which at the end of the line would cost me $75 to ship, because I' [cont.]

A. nope BUT and this is a big But you may damage the adapter if the supplied current is too low for the device, the general rule is that the devie will draw as much current as it needs and if your adapter isn't rated to supply it the secondary coils in the transformer overheat and the thermal couple fails rendering yoru new adapter useless, teh voltage shouldn't matter since it isn't regulated and probably puts out 5+ volts on a load anyway but the current draw can become a definite problem, most likely you will notice the adapter getting quite hot and may smell liek burn plastic (laquer).

A. No. If you are selling to the " hair and beauty trade " who are in turn using the products in their shop, or selling them to their customers, you don't "need to be a hair stylist " or " barber ". yourself. That would be like requiring a person who sells auto parts to be a auto mechanic...Not required. What you will "need " is to have good contacts in the wholesale supplier end of the business. You need to be able to buy your inventory at lower prices than the shop owners can get it for. Otherwise why should they buy from you ? Here is a tip...Offer delivery to the shops. Why ? People are lazy and if they know that your driver will deliver the order, next day, to the shop, they won't bother going to a… [cont.]
